Cobra 5 8S ESC + 1721-1260Kv Sensored Motor Combo
The Castle Creations Cobra 5 carries forward the Mamba XLX2 exact footprint while replacing everything inside it — 32-bit dual-core processing, a rebuilt current-sensing and thermal protection system, and CRYO-DRIVE thermal management engineered for aggressive, high-load running. This version pairs the Cobra 5 with the Castle sensored 1721-1260Kv motor.
Why the 1721 Can?
The 1721 is the more compact motor in the Cobra 5 lineup, and at 1260Kv it spins up higher than the big 2028 winds. That suits lighter 1/7-scale rigs and builds where physical motor space is tight or where you want RPM over raw low-end grunt. If your truck is a heavy 1/5-scale bruiser, look at the 2028-800Kv or 2028-1100Kv instead — matching the can to the mass is the whole game here, and we are happy to talk it through before you buy.
SmartSense and Real Tuning
SmartSense uses the motor sensors at startup for cog-free launches and genuine low-speed control, then hands off to Castle efficient sensorless mode. The Castle Link V4 USB adapter is included and Castle Link 2 software is free — tuning, data logging and firmware updates cost nothing extra. Optional smartphone programming is available via the B-LINK 2 Bluetooth interface and the free Castle Link 2 app on Google Play and the App Store.
