What Can a 1000W Power Station Run in 2026?

Posted by LockTech & Gear on

A 1000W-class portable power station is one of the most popular sizes — but what can it actually run, and for how long? Here's a practical breakdown so you know what to expect before you buy.

Two numbers that matter: watts and watt-hours

There are two specs to understand. Watts (W) is the output — how much power the station can deliver at once, which decides what you can run. Watt-hours (Wh) is the capacity — the size of the battery, which decides how long it runs. A unit like the EcoFlow DELTA 2 pairs a 1800W output with about 1024Wh of capacity, so this guide assumes a roughly 1000W output and ~1000Wh battery.

What a ~1000W station can run

With around 1000–1800W of output, a station in this class can comfortably power most household essentials: a refrigerator, LED lights, phones and laptops, a TV and internet router, a CPAP machine, fans, and small kitchen appliances like a blender or coffee maker. Many can also run a microwave or power tools if the output headroom (and surge rating) allows. What it generally can't run are large, high-draw appliances like central AC, electric water heaters, or electric stoves.

How long will it last?

Runtime depends on the load versus the capacity. With about 1000Wh of usable energy, you can roughly estimate hours by dividing capacity by the device's wattage. A 50W run of lights and a phone charger could last many hours; a 150W refrigerator (which cycles on and off) can run much of a day; a 1000W appliance running continuously would drain it in about an hour. Lower-draw devices stretch runtime dramatically.

Quick examples

A ~1000Wh station can typically keep a fridge cold through a multi-hour outage, recharge a phone dozens of times, run a CPAP overnight (without heated humidifier), or power a work-from-home setup for a full day. For longer outages or bigger loads, step up to a larger DELTA, or add an expansion battery.

Find the right size

If a 1000W class fits your needs, great — if you need more, size up. Shop EcoFlow power stations at LockTech & Gear here, and use our power station sizing guide to match capacity to your exact loads. Comparing models? See our DELTA 2 vs DELTA 2 Max comparison.
