How Long Does an EcoFlow Take to Charge in 2026?

Posted by LockTech & Gear on

One of the most common questions before buying an EcoFlow is simply: how long does it take to charge? The answer depends on the model and how you're charging it. Here's a clear breakdown of AC, solar, and car charging.

LockTech & Gear is an authorized EcoFlow dealer — every station ships free with full warranty.

AC (wall outlet) charging — the fastest

EcoFlow built its reputation on extremely fast AC charging. Thanks to its X-Stream technology, many EcoFlow units charge far faster than typical power stations — the DELTA series can reach roughly 80% in under an hour and full charge in around 1 to 2 hours depending on the model, with larger units taking a bit longer. Smaller RIVER models charge even quicker, often reaching full in about an hour. Wall charging is almost always your fastest option.

Solar charging — depends on panels and sun

Solar charge time depends on how many watts of panels you connect and the available sunlight. The more panel wattage you feed in (up to the unit's solar input limit), the faster it charges. In good sun with panels near the unit's maximum solar input, a mid-size station can recharge in a handful of hours; with fewer panels or cloudy conditions, expect considerably longer. Always check your model's maximum solar input so you don't overpay for panels it can't use.

Car charging — slow but convenient

Charging from a 12V car socket while driving is the slowest method, typically delivering a modest trickle that's best for topping up on a road trip rather than a full recharge. EcoFlow's alternator chargers are a much faster vehicle option if you want serious on-the-road charging.

What affects charge speed

Charge time varies with the unit's capacity (bigger batteries take longer), the input method and wattage, the current charge level (the last few percent slow down to protect the battery), and your settings — many EcoFlow units let you dial charge speed up for maximum speed or down to extend battery lifespan. Temperature matters too; very cold conditions slow charging.

How to charge faster

For the quickest top-up, use AC wall charging with the unit set to fast/turbo charge mode. Combine charging sources where supported (for example AC plus solar) to add inputs together. And size your solar array close to the unit's solar input ceiling so you're capturing the maximum it can accept.
